Terms of Service for Rumie App

Welcome to Rumie App, a peer-to-peer marketplace designed for college students to buy and sell secondhand items within and between campuses. By accessing or using Rumie App (the "App") or any of our services (the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or the Services. We may update these Terms from time to time, and any changes will be effective when posted in the App or on our website. Please check these Terms periodically for any updates.

1. Use of the App

To use the App, you must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited college or university and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. You must provide accurate and complete registration information, including your first name, last name, phone number, university email address, profile picture, payment information, billing, and shipping addresses.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2. Marketplace Rules

• Eligibility: The App is intended solely for college students to buy and sell secondhand items. Sellers must verify their student status and provide valid payment and shipping details.
• Listings: You may list items for sale on the App, subject to compliance with our guidelines. All items listed must be legal and must not violate the rights of any third party.
• Transactions: Rumie App serves as a platform to facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers. We are not a party to the actual transaction between the buyer and seller and are not responsible for any issues related to the quality, condition, or legality of the items sold. All payments for transactions must be processed through the App, and we do not assume responsibility for any transactions made outside of the App.
• Payment and Fees: Buyers will be charged the agreed purchase price, including applicable taxes and shipping fees, at checkout. Sellers are responsible for any fees associated with listing or selling items, as detailed in the App. Sellers must ship items promptly after a purchase is made, as described in our Shipping Policy.
• Prohibited Items: You may not use the App to sell illegal, counterfeit, or prohibited items, including, but not limited to, stolen goods, firearms, drugs, or hazardous materials. We reserve the right to remove any listings that violate these policies.

3. Seller Obligations

• Shipping: Sellers are responsible for shipping the item promptly after the buyer completes the payment, using the shipping label provided by Rumie App. Tracking information will be automatically updated.
• Delivery Times: Sellers must ship orders within the time frame specified at the time of purchase. If there are delays or issues with the shipment, sellers must notify the buyer and Rumie App as soon as possible.
• Refunds and Returns: Sellers must handle all returns or refund requests in accordance with our Refund Policy. Buyers are encouraged to contact the seller first if there are issues with their order. Rumie App is not responsible for resolving disputes regarding refunds or returns.

4. Buyer Obligations

• Payment: Buyers must pay for items in full, including applicable taxes and shipping fees, at the time of purchase through the App.
• Receiving Goods: Buyers are responsible for receiving the items they purchase and checking their condition upon arrival. If there are issues with the product, buyers should contact the seller directly. Rumie App is not liable for any product defects, delays, or issues that arise with the goods purchased.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect and process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you agree to our Privacy Policy, which can be found on our website.

6. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between a buyer and a seller, we encourage both parties to resolve the issue amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, please contact our customer support team at [contact@rumieapp.com], and we will work to mediate the issue. However, Rumie App is not responsible for resolving any disputes or compensating users for any losses that may arise from the transaction.

7. Termination and Suspension of Accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent or unlawful activities. Upon termination, you will no longer be able to access your account, and any transactions in progress may be canceled.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property related to the App are owned by Rumie App LLC or its licensors. You may not use or reproduce any of these without our express written consent.

9. Limitations of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rumie App LLC and its affiliates are not liable for any damages, losses, or liabilities arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to product defects, non-delivery of goods, fraud, disputes between users, or any other issues that arise between buyers and sellers. Rumie App is not responsible for any transactions that occur outside of the App.

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for any transactions conducted through the App.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rumie App LLC, its affiliates, and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, damage, loss, or expense arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of MS without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts located in Oxford, MS.

12. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Rumie App LLC regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
• Severability: If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
• Assignment: Rumie App LLC may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms at any time.
